MiVoice Office Application Suite Configuration

To prepare for using the Phone Manager Lightning Adapter setup, the following configuration needs to be performed in the Application Suite server.

Warning

In order for the adapter to connect, Application Suite must be running a CA signed certificate (not self-signed). Please refer to the requirements for more information.

API Key Setup

The Phone Manager Lightning adapter will be connecting from the Salesforce web page on the user's browser to the Phone Manager Server-side API on the MiVoice Office Application Suite Server.

To use this API, a key must be generated on the server.

  1. Login to the Application Suite server with an Admin account

  2. Navigate to the 'Site Settings\API Keys' section

  3. Press the 'Generate' button to create an API key

  4. Make a note of this key for use when completing the Salesforce side of the configuration

Real-Time Reporting Service

The Phone Manager Server-side API is hosted within the Real-Time Reporting Service. If there are no real-time reporting elements currently licensed on the server then this service will need to be manually started.

  1. Login to the Application Suite server with an Admin account

  2. Navigate to the 'Servers' section

  3. Select the server and press the 'Edit' button

  4. Check the 'Real-Time Reporting' box if not already checked

  5. Press the 'Save' button

The Watchdog service should now automatically start the real-time service.

User Configuration Check

The final part of the application server configuration is to check that each user that will be using the Phone Manager Lightning adapter has the following configured:

  • They have a Professional or Team Leader license assigned
  • They have a primary extension configured1
  • The email address configured against the user matches their email for their Salesforce login

Note

The email address property of the user within application suite maybe synced from the telephone system or from Active Directory. If a user's email address needs to be changed, change it on the phone system or within AD and wait for the update to be synced otherwise local changes may be overwritten.

  1. Only the primary extension can be used for Phone Manager Lightning adapter integration. If the user is moving around between desks they will need to use Hot Desking in order to use the integration. This can be core MiVoice Office 250 Hot Desking or 6900 SIP Hot Desking but not Agent Hot Desking.
