Configuration Overview

To configure a customer to use the Phone Manager Lightning adapter, configuration within both MiVoice Office Application Suite and Salesforce are required.

To perform this configuration, the following user accounts will be required:

  • An administrator account on the MiVoice Office Application Suite
  • An administrator account on Salesforce.com
  • Access to Database Programming on the telephone system and/or Active Directory to update email addresses
  • Firewall/Router/MBG access to allow connectivity to the MiVoice Office Application Suite API for remote users (if required)

Please make sure you have access to all these systems before starting the configuration process.

Warning

In order for the adapter to connect, Application Suite must be running a CA signed certificate (not self-signed). Please refer to the requirements for more information.

Communication

The Phone Manager Lightning adapter makes a connection from the user's local browser to the MiVoice Office Application Suite on TCP port 8204.

If there are remote users, they need to be connected to a VPN back to the office in order to communicate back to the MiVoice Office Application Suite.

Note

Port forwarding can be used if necessary but is not advised. If using port forwarding, the DNS address provided for the MiVoice Office Application Server must resolve both inside and outside of the network.

Licensing

For a user to be able to have access to the Phone Manager Lightning adapter, they will need a Phone Manager API license on the MiVoice Office Application Suite. This license is provided with all Phone Manager Professional and Team Leader licenses.
